I handle
As the middle school STEM teacher, I teach science, engineering and STEM related math topics while applying technology in grades 6 through 8. I expose students to overcoming the challenges of group work, and taking on engineering problems that seem beyond current capabilities. Students have the opportunity to dive into science spanning many concepts, while I work to drive questioning through demonstrations, and guide students through the scientific process with labs. We get to experiment about standards and interest-based topics; teaching us how to collect and analyze data. Overall, I love having the opportunity to observe and admire God’s creation, while recognizing the systems He put into place.
Why I love teaching
I love that all of God’s creation and the patterns and systems of our Earth and universe point back to our Creator.
Experience
Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a science concentration – Masters of Science in Science Education
Where do you see God’s handprints in your job here?
I see God’s hands in the relationships that are formed among students and families at Holy Cross. It is always a great joy to have graduates return to share about their successes.
What’s a gift or secret talent you have?
I can turn any moment or experience into a science lesson.
