I handle

I handle teaching Language Arts and Grammar to our 6th–8th grade students, guiding them in developing strong writing and communication skills. I help students grow as confident writers and critical thinkers by weaving grammar into real-life writing experiences and encouraging collaboration in the classroom.

Why I love teaching

I love teaching because I get to watch students connect what they read to how they write, collaborate with peers, and recraft their work, never realizing they’re practicing grammar in context. Watching them discover their own unique writing voice while having fun is my greatest joy.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Communication with a minor in Biblical Studies from Indiana Wesleyan University
Master’s Certificate in Secondary English Language Arts, Transition to Teaching Program at Taylor University

Where do you see God’s handprints in your job here?

I see God’s handprints in guiding middle schoolers through these tender, changing years, helping them learn to get along with one another, grow in confidence, and remember they are deeply known and loved by God and their teachers. Academics are important, but so is nurturing who they are as individuals during this formative season of life.

What’s a gift or secret talent you have?

I play flute in area symphonies and ensembles, and I am obsessed with knitting!
